At The Big Sky, we believe the most meaningful stories are the ones that connect us, to people, to places, and to the emotion behind life lived.
This year, The Big Sky turns 15. What began as a shared love of storytelling has grown into a journey that’s taken us around the globe, creating films, photography, and content for some of the world’s leading brands. Our story began long before we became a film and photography production company. It started with an adventure our co-founder Ben and his cousin set out to cycle around the world, and our co-founder Jack stepped in to help create a feature documentary of the story. The film, Free Wheels East, became the foundation of everything we stand for today, a celebration of human connection, curiosity, and the power of capturing life on film as it unfolds.
When we returned home, we founded The Big Sky with the same spirit of exploration and creativity. Our first client wasn’t a big brand or a glossy campaign - the local pub was the first to believe in our vision! From there, one story led to another, and what started as a passion project became our life's work.
Over the years, we’ve stepped into the lives of remarkable people doing remarkable things. We don’t just observe; we immerse. We listen. We feel. For a moment, we walk in someone else’s world, experiencing their reality, their culture, their passion, and reflect it back through film and photography in a way that makes others feel it too.
There’s something powerful about showing someone what their world looks like through someone else’s eyes. That’s where connection happens. That’s where stories come alive.
From London to Los Angeles, Africa to Antarctica, we have travelled the world crafting cinematic storytelling for brands who want more than just content, they want emotion, authenticity, and impact.
Fifteen years on, that magic remains unchanged. We still believe in the power of honest, human storytelling, in capturing not just what something looks like, but what it feels like.
Here’s to the people, places, and stories that have shaped the journey so far. And to the ones still waiting beyond the horizon.
